Employee health and safety is one of our business priorities and it is a CSI intention to support a clean, safe and healthy working conditions for all employees. CSI follows all safety and health laws that are put forth by local, state and federal law enforcement agencies. CSI provides safety procedures, managerial controls, personal protective equipment and training to abate and reduce exposure to dangerous material and prevent injury and illness. We have developed, and will continually redo, policies, rules, and techniques, which will contribute to the safety of everyone involved. Establishment and preservation of a safe setting is a joint function of management and employees at all levels of the organization. To this end, all reasonable efforts should be taken to achieve the goal of improved safety and health preservation. Our thinking is to control and minimize, to the greatest extent possible, any risk involved in the performance of our Environmentally Friendly Cleaning. CSI has the responsibility to: Perfectly and thoroughly sustain the Safety Program, Perpetuate a workplace that is safe and healthful for the staff, Adhere to occupational safety and health standards, rules, regulations and orders, Perpetuate an effective accident avoidance plan. CSI expects all staff members to work in a manner of good safe practices as displayed, instructed, and reviewed. Supervisors require that staff observe and obey every rule, regulation and order needed for the safe conduct of work, and shall take such action needed to obtain compliance. Employees will submit to the company safety program by following all safety rules, advising management of unsafe conditions and recommending ways to improve upon the CSI Safety Program. There is no task so pertinent—nor any service so urgent—that staff cannot take the time to work safely. The Green Seal Requirement for Commercial and Institutional Cleaning Providers GS-42, establishes environmental requirements for cleaning service providers of business, public, and institutional structures, including in-house and external cleaning services, to create a green cleansing program that protects human health and the environment. The standard takes a systems approach with cleaning. Guidance is offered tools and items used for cleansing (what is utilized for cleansing) and consists of staff training and preparation (how cleaning is done). The standard also includes emphasis on ecological improvements that reduce toxicity, waste, and exposure to both structure residents and custodial personnel. The standard can work as a tool to assist business begin to take action to improve their cleaning company and is readily available for Green Seal accreditation.
